FDisk Partition Wipe
Quote from Deleted user on 2022-03-10, 12:05 AMI was just working on a project where the company sent me a USB to wipe partitions on PCs that were being sent back from a bank. When I booted to the USB I saw that it was e2b, and they had an option called Fdisk Partition Delete, and when you load it, the screen says loading Windows 98 then comes up on a screen with an option to hit D to delete the partitions. I was allowed to keep the USB to have it, but I'm not seeing what was added to it. I want to add it to the e2b USB that I regularly carry around so that I have a quick partition wiper with me instead of going in using Gparted or Hirens to access and delete partitions on a drive. I'm trying to figure out how they set it up, since there is not an Iso or different utility that I can find on the USB I am assuming it must be an option somewhere, but I'm not sure. Was looking to see if anyone knew how to get it added to my main menu options.

Of course, you realise that just deleting partitions does not delete the old data and the old files can be easily recovered?

Quote from Deleted user on 2022-03-12, 10:25 AMYes but a lot of the contracts I pick up are just doing a partition wipe. Although, I would definitely not mind different options. I've used some other programs in the past that scrubbed the drive by writing 0 throughout the entire drive. I don't know what program it was though.

One pass is sufficient. I am surprised that the bank allows the disks to be resold -it must be a very high security risk! Most institutions send the disks out to be securely destroyed by a third-party company.
