Add ESX to root menu

How would I add ESX as a seperate main meny item and have it perfrom a scan to list all of the versions on the USB?

I am not familiar with ESX. Do you mean ESXi or ESX?  Can it both Legacy and UEFI-boot?

I understand that you can get a trial ISO - e.g. VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi ISO) image VMware-VMvisor-Installer-7.0U3g-20328353.x86_64.iso

DO you mean you want to run this installer ISO from an E2B USB drive? It should just boot OK.

Or do you mean you want to boot to an installed ESX installation directly from an E2B USB drive and boot to ESX?

If you make an ESX USB drive using the installer, what type and how many partitions does it create on the USB drive?

e.g after doing this https://youtu.be/V8LMa8vb2ng

If only one or two partitions are made by the installer then it may be possible to create partition images of them and add the image files to the E2B USB drive. If it makes more than 2 partitions then I don't think it will be possible.
